Ministry Update
Dear Friends,
Happy Anniversary! Just one brief year ago, we gathered to celebrate the opening of the East Dundee maternity home with a Celebration Open House on May 18th. So much has happened in a year. Five residents served! One amazing full time “house mom.” One nearly full-time volunteer handyman and groundskeeper. Scores of visits from advocates and friends. Prayers beyond numbering. Thank YOU for your part in this our first year.
This newsletter is huge so here is a quick overview: recap of recent events, invitation to host G.R.O. W. events, invitation to 6/21 RLOM Update Event, NID-wide event idea and other events, new partnerships, specific ministry needs, bulletin blurbs. My goal is to give you everything I can share so you can continue your work helping RLOM!
We were so excited this May18th to host a very small event welcoming LCMS President Rev. Dr. Matthew Harrison and local NID pastoral leadership for a quick tour! President Harrison was appreciative of the home and the program and seemed especially touched when he visited our basement “Peek-A-Boutique” which is chock full of items and clothing for moms and babies, all donated by our amazing partners here in the NID!
As our ministry settles into this Illinois area, we continue to crave more connections! Connections to people who work in the pregnancy resource centers, local churches (LCMS and beyond too!), colleges and professional schools, employers, potential supporters…you name it! We want to G.R.O.W! (Gather Resources and Opportunities for Women= GROW!) Will YOU prayerfully consider hosting a simple event at your church or home, or local coffee shop? We would love to connect with you and your network of people to get people involved with the life-affirming and life-changing work of RLOM.

Your work as advocates and friends of Redeeming Life is so vital! Our small staff depends on your kindness and hard work to keep the resources flowing for ministry. Our God is a multiplying God who uses your work to multiply the blessings not only for the residents of the maternity home, but also for the others who get involved and put their faith into action. If you need ideas, this is the group! You all have held plant sales, trivia nights, baby showers, baby bottle campaigns, holiday events, family walks and so much more! Please send ideas and needs to us at info@rlom.org so we can help you as you support moms and babies!
Several advocates are working on joint projects within their local areas and NID circuits to get more people involved and grow more support.
RLOM would like to host an NID-wide event in support of this ministry! Do you feel called to step up and help? Maybe this is a huge Top Golf event across several locations? Maybe this is a family fun day in the fall complete with live music and activities? Maybe this is a dinner event? A pancake breakfast? A Christmas marketplace full of vendors and food? What can we do together??!
Have you noticed how God blesses US as we work for others? It is humbling to talk to partners all over who got involved with RLOM and then felt their passion for serving the Lord by serving His people grow even stronger. People who have shied away from being publicly pro-life find that helping moms and babies through RLOM is a wonderful way to live out their belief that life is a gift of God to be cherished and protected! This work is so elemental (housing and safety) and tangible (diapers and maternity clothes), while also so transformative (the power of God to change lives forever!) that people are excited to tell their friends about it. That is witnessing to what our great God is doing! Praise God for His work in us and through us!
Again, THANK YOU for the huge part you play in supporting RLOM and building support within your churches and communities! Please prayerfully consider recruiting others to get involved too. With God’s help, we are changing lives. Two at a time!
