Ladies’ Advent Tea

December 6, 2025

We have been announcing our Ladies’ Advent Tea here at Bethany for two months. Now is the time to transfer “I think I’m going” to “I am signing up to attend!”

An area in the narthex has been set aside to make it easier for you to:

  1. Sign up! That’s the easy part. “Yes, I am going!”

  2. Sign up for the casserole you will provide. Please bring to kitchen on December 6 by 9:30 AM.

  3. Take an aluminum pan and cover to use for your casserole.

  4. Our guest speaker, Betsy Santana, has provided a “wish list”. The list includes items you could purchase and donate at the Advent Tea. An area will be set aside for donations. Please take a sheet and help make life a little brighter for their clients. Your contributions will be most appreciated.

  5. Volunteer to help with setting up on Friday, December 5. After set-up, we will have some pizza!

  6. Volunteer to move tables and set up chairs for Sunday’s Bible class following the Tea.

  7. Cookies! Cookies! Cookies! For us to share at our Advent Tea. Sign up on the sheet.

Let’s take the time to celebrate together this special time of our church year!

ADVENT:

  • We celebrate His birth!

  • We celebrate God’s love for us!

  • We join together knowing He will return as He promised!

ADVENT Brings us HOPE, PEACE, JOY, and LOVE.

  • HOPE - we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ

  • PEACE - we receive the comfort and blessings the birth of Christ brings us

  • JOY - we remember the birth of Jesus Christ with the shepherds of long ago

  • LOVE - we praise God for His love for us through the birth of His Son, Jesus Christ

Ladies Advent Tea

You are invited to our Advent Tea here at Bethany Lutheran Church on Saturday, December 6 from 10 AM to Noon. You re encouraged to invite friends and relatives to share in this special occasion! All ladies, young and old, are welcome!

This year we will welcome a guest speaker, Becky Santana, a volunteer coordinator from Mutual Ground located in Aurora. They are a non-profit organization that supports individuals and families impacted by domestic violence, sexual violence, and substance abuse. They offer life-changing services to their clients at a critical time in their lives. Information can be found on their website: mutualground.org.

Next month we will share a list of items that will be of help to their clients during their critical time.

Advent provides us time to remember all the Lord has done for us. Jesus has done everything necessary for us to attain eternity with Him. Our responsibility is to grow in faith, trust our Lord, and believe that His Word and promises are true. God kept all the promises/covenants He made in the Old Testament. The New Testament reveals He has fulfilled all these promises by His death on the cross and His resurrection on the third day. Believe what He says! Never give up faith! Always trust in the power of God!

Take part and share this special time with your sisters in Christ. You will leave refreshed and energized.

We will have a door prize of this beautiful, quilted wall hanging!
