Proclaim (Adults, ages 18-120)

  • Sings regularly in Sunday morning Divine Service, rotating between the 8:30 and 11:00 services.

  • Rehearses on Wednesday evenings from 7:00-9:00 (8:00-9:00 during Advent and Lent) in the music room

  • Open to all committed singers who desire to serve the Lord and his church with their voice

Family Choir (all ages)

Do you want to sing in worship at Bethany but are unable to commit to a weekly rehearsal? Join the Family Choir! Come alone or bring your family with you (kids included)! Rehearsals are 45-minutes before services in the music room. A recording of the music that we will be singing will be availalable for you to listen to ahead of time. The music will be simple enough for us to prepare just before the service.

Festival Choir (Adults, Ages 18-120)

This choir joins Proclaim for special services such as Christmas and Easter, rehearsing for about six weeks before scheduled performance during Proclaim’s regular rehearsal time (see above).

The Bethany Lutheran Schola Cantorum (Grades K-12)

The Schola Cantorum (Latin for "singing school") is an affiliate choir school program of the Royal School of Church Music in America (RSCMA). Offered to K-12 grade children and youth from Bethany and the broader Naperville community, the Schola Cantorum teaches music literacy, liturgical formation, and important life skills through a series of level based upon the RSCMA's Voice for Life curriculum.  It is divided into three choirs based on age and voice type:

  • Schola Cantorum Preparatory Choir (Grades K-2)

    • Rehearses on Wednesdays from 3:30-4:15 in the sanctuary

    • Sings about per quarter in Sunday morning Divine Service

    • Informal training that focuses on healthy singing and basic music literacy


  • Schola Cantorum Choristers (Grades 3-8)

    • Rehearses on Wednesdays from 3:30-5:30 in the music room

    • Sings an average of twice per month, rotating between the 8:30 and 11:00 services as well as occasional weeknight services throughout the year

    • A formal training scheme focusing on healthy choral singing, music literacy, and advanced repertoire

    • Opportunities for touring and recording


  • Schola Cantorum Choir of Young Men & Women (Grades 9-12, or by appointment)

    • Rehearses on Wednesdays from 4:30-6:30 in the music room

    • Sings an average of twice per month, rotating between the 8:30 and 11:00 services as well as occasional weeknight services throughout the year

    • A more formal training scheme focusing on singing skills, music literacy, and advanced repertoire

    • Opportunities for touring and recording
